PRISM is a dynamic and growing non-profit organization located in Golden Valley. As the local food shelf for five cities, PRISM responds to an array of basic needs for community members in need. Our programs address food insecurity, housing, clothing and seasonal programs including Back to School, Holiday Toy Shoppe and a Birthday Room. In collaboration with local faith partners, nonprofits, businesses, schools, and civic partners, PRISM is dedicated to delivering high-quality social services in a manner that is dignified and empowering.


PRISM has diverse revenue sources including earned revenue from the Thrift Shop, individual gifts, United Way, various foundations, civic and business partners, special events, and faith communities.

Responsibilities:

· Supervise and support team of thrift shop volunteers; including providing appropriate training, delegating tasks, and providing feedback

· Engage and train new volunteers and prioritize volunteer retention

· Monitor volunteer schedule and ensure that the thrift shop is consistently staffed

· Coordinate rotation of stock and seasonal items

· Assist with development of annual plan and implementation of seasonal events

· Oversee the process of sorting and pricing donations to ensure quality and consistency

· Responsibility for cash flow and deposits, including opening and closing procedures

· Engage, train, and monitor volunteer groups

· Maintain our high level of customer service experience through role modeling and floor presence

· Monitor and maintain store supplies and equipment

· Ensure cleanliness of sales floor and back room 

· Assist in identifying and listing items for Ebay and specialty sales


Competencies Include: 

· 1-3 years of retail supervision experience, prior thrift experience preferred

· Experience working with volunteers, preferably in a supervisory or leadership role

· Sensitivity to our diverse customer base and commitment to creating a positive shopping experience for all customers

· Superb interpersonal skills to successfully interface with customers, donors, and volunteers and positively represent PRISM

· Excellent written and oral communication skills

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and POS systems

· Demonstrated success in working as a member of a team and independently

· Desire to drive sales and comprehension of retail financials

· Flexibility, sense of humor, and eagerness to collaborate are desired

· Availability to work nights and weekends

· Prior experience with Ebay, vintage and antiques, as well as luxury brands preferred
