Administrative Consultant, Minnesota Justice Research Center

Job Overview
The Minnesota Justice Research Center (MNJRC) is a criminal justice research and policy nonprofit founded in 2017. We are seeking an experienced contractor/consultant to perform administrative duties; assist with grant writing, fundraising, event logistics; and consult on organizational development. This is a six month contract expected to be completed and evaluated for extension based on performance and budget at the conclusion of the contract period. The contract requires approximately 10 hours per week. The Administrative Consultant reports to the Executive Director and supports all contracts and staff.

About Us

Research: We monitor, research, and analyze what is happening in our justice system. Our work includes community-led research guided by our Research Board; and research and evaluation services for government entities and community organizations.

Education: We educate the community, justice system professionals, and policymakers about our justice system through reporting, convening, and other education and communications efforts.

Policy: We develop and advocate for policy changes based on our research findings. We assist partner organizations with the development of new policy and in their advocacy efforts.

Primary Duties

  • Manage phones and organization of email account

  • General website management in partnership with Communications Consultant

  • Coordinate scheduling with the Executive Director

  • Research, select, and manage database in collaboration with staff

  • Manage contracts and procurement process

  • Create and document organizational policy and procedures

  • Coordinate planning logistics for events

  • Write grants as needed in collaboration with staff and Board

  • Process, record, and respond to donations and sponsorships

  • Coordinate Board meeting and committee times and venues

  • Other activities as agreed upon

At least 3 years of demonstrated success in...

  • Event logistics

  • An office management/administrative role

  • Database management

  • Grant writing

  • Organizational leadership

  • Attention to detail and time management skills

  • Quality customer service
